Hello! My name is Kyle and I'm the artist behind Toadaroni.

My art is centered around frogs and toads with inspiration varying from fantasy, outdoor recreation, and sci-fi. The reason I depict these amphibians so frequently is to embrace the imperfect nature within them. Using the lumps and bumps of frogs and toads gives the characters a larger sense of personality and depth within the drawing.

I didn't come from an art background. My family had no connection to the art world and I never went to art school. I see drawing very similarly as I see riding my bike. Ever since I was a child my bike was a place of freedom. I can ride my bike for hours and go wherever I want and it's all my decision. This is what the amphibians allow within my art. I can choose what the toad looks like or what its backstory is. They create a sense of freedom and choice that feels natural in a world that fixates on the pursuit of perfection.

I tend to experiment with various mediums to give new and different life to the ideas I have for each character. I hope to someday create a larger world of characters and involve them into a fantasy novel, however that is a passion of mine and will take many years of work. I am extremely grateful for anyone and everyone who has supported my journey with Toadaroni and am excited to see what kind of toads and frogs come out of it in the future.
